| Week Three - February 2003 The link to this week's lesson: How to Glitter Fonts. The Assignment: Following Fran's tutorial, create a glittery font of your own. Take your time in Animation shop and try out the "Apply Image Effect" options. Some of them make very nice accents behind Fran's glitters. To do this: In Animation shop, go to Edit/Select all Right click on frame 1 and select: "Apply Image Effect" Whatever effect you'd like to try, always select all frames first. "TV scanlines" and the "Underwater" effect with "Apply Sunlight Dappling" had nice effects. They are all fun so check them out and lets see what you discovered! |

To make the gold text, I started out with the gold sculpture and then I selected parts of the letters and flood filled with a gold glitter made from colorizing a
small square filled with noise and Hood's sparkle tube scattered around.
The silver text was made by first beveling the text, applying chrome, gaussian blur and finally contracting the selection and softening. It already had enough shine, so I used the underwater effect in Animation Shop to make it wavy like "quick silver". |
