Week One - December 2002
The link to this week's lesson: Quick and Easy Plates with Cutouts.

Using what was learned from class, include the plate example from class plus 2 more designs.

I stuck to the tutorial with this one with the exception of the beveling. I just could not get a realistic bevel effect that did not make the plate appear "bowed" to me.

The holly and bells were taken from Victorian postcards and wrapping paper scans.

If you would like some background tiles I made from the Holly decorations, you can find them here.

If you would like this plaid, just right click on this square and save to your hard drive. To learn how to make you own plaid, try my Easy Plaids Using Posterized Gradients tutorial.
